TOTO 0GU5055 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is TOTO part 0GU5055 used for?
0GU5055 is a cutout template for a TOTO drop-in acrylic soaker bathtub. It is a layout document, not a tub part: you use it to mark and cut the deck opening and locate the tub in the framed platform before setting it. Order it when the installer needs the manufacturer's cut line rather than measuring off the tub itself.
2) Is the TOTO 0GU5055 soaker template a physical tub component or just paperwork?
It is documentation, not hardware. Nothing on 0GU5055 stays in the finished installation, so a plumber replacing trim or a drain on an existing TOTO soaker has no use for it. It matters on a new drop-in set, where the deck gets cut to the template.
3) Will the 0GU5055 template work for an alcove or freestanding tub install?
No. The template is cut for a drop-in bathtub, where the tub sets into a finished deck opening. Alcove and freestanding tubs do not use a deck cutout, so there is nothing for this template to lay out. For those installs, work from the tub's own rough-in dimensions.
4) Does a property manager ordering a replacement TOTO soaker tub need the template too?
Only if the deck is being rebuilt or the opening recut. Dropping a like-for-like tub back into an existing deck opening does not need 0GU5055. New construction, or a change in tub model where the cutout size shifts, is where the template earns its place.
5) Is there more than one version of TOTO template 0GU5055?
One part only, TOTO 0GU5055, with no size or finish choices to specify. Since templates are tub-model specific, match the number against the TOTO soaker model being installed rather than assuming it covers the whole acrylic range.
