TOTO THU735#BN-A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the THU735 push button fit any TOTO toilet, or only the Aquia IV?
Order it only for the Aquia IV two-piece. The assembly is built for that model's tank and lid opening, so it is not a universal TOTO trip button. If your toilet is a one-piece Aquia or another TOTO series, you need the button specified for that model.
2) What does the BN suffix mean on TOTO part THU735#BN-A?
In TOTO's numbering, the code after the # is the finish. On THU735#BN-A, BN is TOTO's brushed nickel finish, so the button face matches brushed nickel trim rather than polished chrome. If the other Aquia IV tanks in your building carry chrome buttons, this one will not match them.
3) My Aquia IV dual flush button sticks or won't return after pressing. Is this the part I replace?
Yes. When the flush button binds, stays depressed, or no longer triggers one of the two flush volumes, the button assembly itself is usually the failed piece, and THU735#BN-A is the factory replacement for the Aquia IV two-piece. The trip lever mechanism and the flush valve are separate parts.
4) Do I need to order anything else to replace an Aquia IV push button?
For a straight button swap, no additional parts are required. THU735#BN-A comes as the complete push button assembly. It does not include the tank lid, the flush valve, or the fill valve, so if the lid is cracked or the valve is leaking those are ordered separately.
5) I manage a building with several Aquia IV toilets. Can I stock one button for all of them?
Only if they are all two-piece Aquia IV units and all in the same finish. THU735 is specific to the Aquia IV two-piece, and the #BN suffix is brushed nickel. Mixed one-piece and two-piece Aquia installs, or a mix of chrome and brushed nickel trim, mean more than one part number on the shelf.
6) Is any tool or plumbing work needed to change the Aquia IV flush button?
No pipe work. The button assembly threads into the tank lid from underneath, so the job is lifting the lid off, unthreading the retaining collar, dropping the old button out and fitting the new one. Water supply does not have to come off the wall for this part.
