1) Will the Toto Aquia IV two-piece toilet fit a 12 inch rough-in, and what if my rough-in is 10 or 14 inches?
The Aquia IV ships set up for a standard 12 inch rough-in. For an existing 10 or 14 inch waste line you can still use it, but you need a TOTO adapter: TSU48.10 for a 10 inch rough-in or TSU48.14 for 14 inch, both sold separately. Measure from the finished wall to the center of the closet flange before ordering so you know which one you need.
2) What comes in the box with the Aquia IV, and what else do I need to buy to install it?
Bowl and tank ship together with a TOTO SS124 SoftClose elongated seat, the tank-to-bowl gasket and hardware, outlet socket, and bolt caps. You still have to supply the wax ring, the closet mounting bolts, and the water supply line. Plan those into the job, they are not included.
3) Can I add a bidet seat to the Toto Aquia IV, and which one?
The WASHLET+ version of the Aquia IV is built for the TOTO T40 WASHLET+ electronic bidet seat and that seat only. The bowl has a channel molded into it that hides the WASHLET+ supply line and power cord, which is why other seats do not integrate the same way. When you make the upgrade you also need the 9AU321-A WASHLET adapter. Also remember the seat replaces the included SS124 SoftClose seat, so budget an outlet within reach of the bowl for the WASHLET power cord.
4) How much water does the Aquia IV dual flush toilet use, and does it qualify for a water rebate program?
Two flush volumes: 0.9 gallons for liquids and 1.28 gallons for solids, selected with a chrome push button on top of the tank. It is WaterSense listed and meets California CEC and CALGreen requirements, which is the language most municipal rebate and green building programs look for on a retrofit.
5) Is the Toto Aquia IV a floor mount toilet or does it need an in-wall carrier?
Floor mount with a floor outlet, so it sets on a standard closet flange and drops straight down into the waste line. No in-wall carrier, no back outlet, no wall framing work. The skirted apron hides the trapway, which means the bowl sits flush to the floor all the way around and you are not scrubbing behind contours.

7) What colors does the Toto Aquia IV come in?
Five colors across the range: Cotton White, Bone, Colonial White, Sedona Beige, and Ebony. Cotton White is the #01 suffix, Bone #03, Colonial White #11, Sedona Beige #12, and Ebony #51. If you are matching existing fixtures in a building, note that Cotton White and Colonial White are two different whites, so pull the suffix off the old fixture rather than guessing.
8) Is the Aquia IV trapway going to clog on a rental unit?
Trapway diameter is 2-1/2 inches, on the larger side for a residential fixture, and it is paired with TOTO's DYNAMAX TORNADO FLUSH, which uses a 360 degree wash of the bowl rather than rim holes. The 1.28 gallon setting is the one to use for solids, the 0.9 setting is a liquids rinse. Where tenants tend to over-use paper, tell them to use the full flush button.
9) What are the individual TOTO part numbers for the Aquia IV bowl and tank if I only need to replace one?
