TOTO THP4255#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the TOTO THP4255#BN brass knob kit actually do?
THP4255#BN is a TOTO extension kit that adds 3/4 inch of extension, supplied with a brass knob. You use it when the valve body sits deeper in the wall than the trim was built for, so the handle and escutcheon can still reach the finished wall surface.
2) My TOTO shower valve is set too deep in the wall. Will a 3/4 inch extension be enough?
The THP4255 kit buys you 3/4 inch, no more. Measure from the face of the valve to the finished tile or wall surface first: if the shortfall is greater than 3/4 inch, a single kit will not bring the trim out flush and you need a deeper extension solution rather than this one.
3) Is TOTO THP4255 sold in more than one finish?
One configuration only: THP4255#BN. The #BN suffix is TOTO's finish code, so if your other trim in the bath uses a different TOTO finish code, this particular kit will not match it.
4) Is the THP4255#BN a complete shower trim, or just a part?
Just a part. It is an extension kit with a brass knob, not a valve and not a full trim set. The valve body and the trim escutcheon are separate items, and this kit only spaces the existing trim out by 3/4 inch.
