TOTO 6AU5004#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What does the TOTO 6AU5004#BN part actually do?
It is the overflow cover button for the TOTO THU5160 overflow assembly. The cover plate snaps over the tub overflow opening to conceal it while letting water pass to the drain. It is a trim cover only, not the overflow drain body itself, so you still need the THU5160 overflow if that is what is damaged.
2) I manage apartments and the overflow plate on a TOTO tub is corroded. Do I have to replace the whole overflow?
Not if only the visible plate is damaged. The 6AU5004#BN button is sold as a standalone cover for the THU5160 overflow, so a scratched, pitted or missing face plate is a trim-only swap with the tub and drain body left in place. Replace the THU5160 overflow assembly only if the body behind the wall is leaking or stripped.
3) Does the TOTO 6AU5004#BN overflow button include the overflow body, gasket or screws?
It is the cover button alone. TOTO catalogs 6AU5004#BN as the cover for the THU5160 overflow, so the overflow body, its gasket and any mounting hardware come with the THU5160 assembly rather than with this trim piece. Order the full overflow if you are building up a new waste and overflow from scratch.
4) What finish is TOTO 6AU5004#BN and will it match my other TOTO tub trim?
The #BN suffix on 6AU5004#BN is TOTO's brushed nickel finish code, so the button comes in brushed nickel. If the rest of the tub trim on the opening is TOTO brushed nickel, this is the matching overflow cover. Ordering by the full part number including the #BN keeps the finish right.
5) What part number should I give my supplier for the TOTO THU5160 overflow cover in brushed nickel?
Ask for TOTO 6AU5004#BN. That is the manufacturer part number for the brushed nickel overflow cover button used on the THU5160 overflow. Quoting the full number with the #BN suffix avoids being sent a chrome or polished-brass equivalent.
