TOTO THU6487#01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THU6487#01 part for?
THU6487#01 is a TOTO replacement door assembly in Cotton White, the louver/door piece that covers the deodorizer and wand dryer opening on a TOTO washlet or bidet seat. It's a service part, ordered when the original door is cracked, discolored, or no longer closing, not a complete deodorizer unit.
2) How do I know if THU6487#01 is the right door for my TOTO washlet?
Match the part number, not the look. TOTO uses model-specific louver doors across washlet generations and they aren't interchangeable between series even when they look nearly identical. THU6487#01 is the wand/dryer door in Cotton. Pull the model number off the label under the seat or on the side skirt of your washlet and confirm TOTO lists THU6487 as its service door before ordering.
3) Does the THU6487#01 include the deodorizer or the dryer unit itself?
No. THU6487#01 is the door assembly alone, the louvered panel that covers the wand and dryer opening. The deodorizer cartridge, the fan, and the drying element are separate TOTO service parts. If your problem is a dead fan or a smell that hasn't gone away, the door isn't the fix.
4) Does the TOTO THU6487 door assembly come in any color other than Cotton White?
Cotton White only. THU6487#01 is built in TOTO's #01 Cotton finish, and that is the single configuration offered, so it matches a Cotton White washlet body. If your seat is Sedona Beige or another TOTO color, the color code on the part number has to change and this one will not match.
5) Is the TOTO THU6487 louver door something a maintenance tech can swap, or does it need a plumber?
It's a snap-in cosmetic and functional cover on the washlet body, not a plumbing connection. Replacing it doesn't break the water supply or the electrical feed, so an in-house maintenance tech handling a multi-family or hotel washlet fleet can do it. Nothing about the part itself requires opening the water line.
