TOTO THU4217 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is TOTO THU4217 a shower arm or a diverter valve?
Despite the name, TOTO THU4217 is a shower arm, finished in chrome and part of the Nexus line. It is the wall-mount arm that carries the showerhead, not a tub/shower diverter valve body. If you need a diverter cartridge or valve, the THU4217 is not the part.
2) What finish is the TOTO THU4217 shower arm, and will it match my other Nexus trim?
THU4217 is the polished chrome version of the Nexus shower arm, and chrome is the only finish it comes in. If the rest of your Nexus shower trim is chrome, it matches; for a brushed nickel or matte black bathroom you would need the arm in that finish instead, not this one.
3) What is the TOTO part number I should order for the chrome Nexus shower arm?
Order by manufacturer part number THU4217 from TOTO. That is the chrome Nexus shower arm, and it is a single-configuration part, so there is no finish or length suffix to specify.
4) Does the TOTO THU4217 shower arm come with a showerhead?
No. THU4217 is the arm only, a replacement plumbing part rather than a complete shower kit. The showerhead and any escutcheon or flange you want at the wall are separate items, so plan on ordering the head alongside it if you are building a new shower rather than swapping a damaged arm.
