TOTO TET3GAR#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET3GAR#SS a flush valve or a complete toilet?
It's a flush valve, not a fixture. The TET3GAR#SS is TOTO's EcoEFV concealed electronic flush valve for a toilet, rated 1.6 gallons per flush. You order the bowl separately; this is the valve that mounts behind the wall and flushes it.
2) Will the TOTO TET3GAR#SS work on a urinal?
No. This EcoEFV concealed flush valve is a toilet valve at 1.6 gallons per flush. Urinals run much lower volumes and need a urinal-specific valve, so specify a urinal EFV instead of this one.
3) Does the TET3GAR#SS meet a 1.6 gpf water closet spec on my drawings?
Yes for a 1.6 gpf call-out. The EcoEFV concealed toilet valve is rated 1.6 gallons per flush. If the spec calls for 1.28 gpf or a high-efficiency water closet, this valve does not meet it and you need the lower-volume version.
4) What is the exact part number to order the TOTO EcoEFV 1.6 gpf concealed toilet flush valve?
Order TOTO TET3GAR#SS. The #SS suffix is the finish designation on the exposed trim; it is the only configuration this model is built in, so there is no handing or trim option to specify.
5) Can I use the TOTO EcoEFV concealed valve where there is no wall chase behind the toilet?
No. A concealed flush valve is built to sit inside the wall with only the trim plate exposed, so you need an accessible chase or carrier space behind the fixture. On a solid wall with no chase, use an exposed flushometer instead.
