TOTO TEU2UAI2#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much water does the TOTO TEU2UAI2#SS urinal flush valve use per flush?
0.125 gallons per flush, an eighth of a gallon. That is the pint-flush rate specified for high-efficiency urinals, so the valve has to be matched to a urinal fixture designed for 0.125 gpf; putting it on a urinal built for 0.5 or 1.0 gpf will not clear the trap reliably.
2) What does "concealed" mean on this TOTO urinal flush valve, and can I use it on an exposed-pipe installation?
Concealed means the valve body mounts behind the finished wall with only the sensor plate exposed, so it needs a chase or stud cavity and in-wall rough-in. It is not a substitute for an exposed, surface-mounted valve on a wall where the supply runs outside the finish. For a surface application you need an exposed-type EcoPower urinal valve instead.
3) Is the TOTO TEU2UAI2#SS a touchless sensor flush valve or a manual handle?
Touchless. It is a sensor-operated electronic flush valve, which is why it carries no handle or push button. For restrooms where facilities want hands-free fixtures across the board, this is the urinal counterpart to a sensor toilet valve and faucet.
4) Can I standardize a commercial restroom retrofit on the TOTO TEU2UAI2#SS?
It works for standardization only where the walls are open or already have a concealed rough-in, since the valve body sits in the wall. On a finished restroom with exposed urinal supplies, swapping to a concealed valve means opening the wall. For a fleet of restrooms being gutted anyway, a single 0.125 gpf sensor valve across all urinals keeps spares and water use consistent.
5) Does the #SS suffix on TOTO TEU2UAI2 mean stainless?
Yes, #SS is TOTO's finish code for the stainless trim, and TEU2UAI2#SS is the full part number to order. The valve is offered in that single trim designation, so there is no finish decision to make when specifying it.
