TOTO TEU1UAI2#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the TOTO TEU1UAI2#CP work on a 1.0 gpf or 0.5 gpf urinal?
No. This TOTO EcoPower flush valve is a 0.125 gallon-per-flush unit, so it is matched to pint-flush (1/8 gallon) urinals. Putting it on a urinal bowl designed for 0.5 or 1.0 gpf under-flushes the trapway and leads to staining and odor complaints. Match the valve's flush volume to the bowl's rated volume.
2) Does exposed mounting mean I don't need an access panel behind the wall?
Right. The TEU1UAI2#CP is the exposed version, so the valve body and sensor sit on the wall in front of the finished surface and the supply stop is reachable without opening the wall. Concealed valves need a chase and an access panel for service; this one does not. For retrofits over an existing exposed flush valve, that's usually the configuration you want.
3) Is this TOTO flush valve a sensor-operated hands-free unit?
Yes, it's an electronic sensor flush valve rather than a manual handle. TOTO catalogs it as an IoT/EcoPower-class EFV, so the user never touches the valve, which is why these get specified in high-traffic public and institutional restrooms where touch-free is part of the spec.
4) Can I use the TEU1UAI2#CP to replace a manual urinal flush valve?
Only if the bowl is a 0.125 gpf pint urinal. The valve itself is exposed-mount like a typical manual lever valve, but swapping a 1.0 gpf manual valve for this 0.125 gpf electronic unit on an older high-volume bowl is a mismatch. On pint urinals it's a straight move to touch-free operation.
5) What finish does the TOTO TEU1UAI2#CP urinal flush valve come in?
Polished chrome, and that is the only configuration this model number covers. The #CP suffix in TEU1UAI2#CP is TOTO's polished chrome code, so if you are standardizing a restroom on chrome trim it matches straight across.
