TOTO THP4299#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THP4299#CP part - is it a complete faucet or just the spout?
THP4299#CP is a spout assembly only, not a complete faucet. It is the L-shaped spout for a widespread lavatory faucet, so the handles and valve bodies are separate items. If you need to replace a cracked or damaged spout on an existing widespread installation, this is the piece; if you are plumbing a new opening, you will also need the handle and valve components.
2) Can I use the THP4299 spout on a single-hole or centerset faucet?
No. It is a widespread spout assembly, meaning it mounts in the center hole of a three-hole 8-inch-spread lavatory with the handles in the two outer holes. A single-hole deck or a 4-inch centerset with a one-piece escutcheon will not accept it. For those openings you need a single-hole or centerset faucet, not a widespread spout.
3) What finish is TOTO THP4299#CP and will it match my other polished chrome trim?
The #CP suffix on the TOTO part number is polished chrome, and that is the only finish this spout assembly is offered in. If the handles and drain in the room are TOTO polished chrome trim, it matches. For brushed nickel or brass openings you need the same spout ordered under a different TOTO finish suffix.
4) I manage apartments with TOTO Guinevere lavatory faucets - is this the right replacement spout?
THP4299#CP is the TOTO Guinevere widespread spout assembly in polished chrome, so it is the correct replacement for a Guinevere widespread lavatory faucet with chrome trim. It is a repair part rather than a full faucet, which keeps the existing handles and valves in the deck untouched - useful when you are matching a fleet of identical bathrooms and do not want to replace whole faucets.
5) Does the THP4299 spout come with handles or a drain assembly?
No handles and no drain. What ships is the spout assembly itself. On a widespread faucet the hot and cold handle assemblies and the valve bodies are ordered separately, and the pop-up or grid drain is a separate item again. Plan the order accordingly if you are rebuilding a whole lavatory rather than swapping a damaged spout.
