TOTO THP4835#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO THP4835#CP?
It's a replacement handle assembly for the TOTO Silas line, specifically the diverter/volume control handle. It's a faucet trim part, not a complete valve, so you're buying the handle hardware that mounts to a valve already in the wall. TOTO part number THP4835#CP.
2) I broke the volume control handle on a Silas shower trim. Can I just replace the handle instead of the whole valve trim?
Yes, that's exactly what this part is for. THP4835#CP is sold as the Silas diverter/volume control handle assembly, so a cracked, stripped, or spun handle can be swapped without disturbing the valve in the wall. Confirm your trim is the Silas series, since TOTO handles are series specific and won't cross over from Vivian or other lines.
3) Does the TOTO THP4835 handle come in finishes other than polished chrome?
As ordered here it is the #CP variant only, which is TOTO's polished chrome suffix. If your Silas trim is brushed nickel or another finish, the handle won't match, and you'd need the THP4835 in the corresponding TOTO finish suffix instead.
4) Will the THP4835#CP handle work on a TOTO Silas tub spout or shower head?
No. THP4835#CP is the diverter/volume control handle only. It replaces the handle that turns water on and routes it between outlets. Spouts, shower heads, and the valve body itself are separate TOTO part numbers.
5) We standardize TOTO Silas trim across our units. Is THP4835#CP the right handle to stock for repairs?
For Silas openings with a diverter or volume control function, yes, that's the handle to keep on the shelf in polished chrome. Note that a pressure balance or thermostatic handle on the same trim can be a different TOTO part number, so check which function each handle on the wall performs before committing to a single stocking number.
