TOTO TET3GBI232#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET3GBI232#SS a flush valve for a toilet or for a urinal?
It is a toilet flush valve. The TET3GBI232#SS is a concealed electronic flush valve rated at 1.6 gallons per flush, which is the toilet flush volume, not a urinal volume. If you are specifying a urinal opening, you need a urinal-specific EFV instead.
2) Does the TOTO TET3GBI232#SS mount exposed on the wall or behind it?
Behind the wall. It is a concealed flush valve, so the valve body sits inside the chase and only the sensor plate shows in the room. That means you need finished-wall access planned during rough-in, unlike an exposed chrome flushometer that bolts on in front of the wall.
3) Will a 1.6 gpf flush valve work on a low-consumption 1.28 gpf toilet bowl?
No. The TET3GBI232#SS is a 1.6 gallon per flush valve, and the bowl has to be matched to the valve's flush volume to clear properly and to hold the fixture's water-use rating. For a 1.28 gpf bowl, order the matching 1.28 gpf version of the valve.
4) What part number do I give my plumber for the TOTO IoT concealed toilet flush valve?
Order it as TOTO TET3GBI232#SS. The #SS suffix is the finish code carried through to the trim plate, and there is a single configuration under that number, so no separate handing or volume option has to be called out.
5) Is this TOTO EFV a sensor flush valve or a manual handle type?
Sensor operated. The TET3GBI232#SS is an electronic flush valve (EFV), so flushing is automatic off the sensor rather than off a manual lever, which is what facilities buyers usually want in high-traffic public restrooms where touchless operation is part of the spec.
