TOTO TET3UBI232#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET3UBI232#SS a complete toilet or just the flush valve?
It is a flush valve, not a fixture. The TET3UBI232#SS is TOTO's IoT EFV concealed flush valve for toilet applications, so it mounts behind the wall and works with a compatible wall-hung or floor-mount bowl that is ordered separately.
2) What flush volume does the TOTO TET3UBI232 concealed flush valve deliver?
One gallon per flush. That matters on two counts: it is below the 1.6 gpf federal maximum for toilets, and the bowl you pair it with has to be rated to clear at 1.0 gpf, otherwise you will get carry issues. Check the bowl's rated flush volume before you commit.
3) Is the TOTO TET3UBI232#SS flush valve for a urinal or a water closet?
Water closet. The valve is specified for toilet use, and its 1 gpf volume is a toilet flush rate. Urinals run far lower volumes and need a urinal-specific valve, so do not substitute this one on a urinal carrier.
4) What exactly do I order to get the TOTO IoT concealed toilet flush valve, and what finish is the #SS suffix?
Order TOTO part TET3UBI232#SS. The #SS suffix is TOTO's stainless finish designation, and it is the only configuration this valve is built in, so there is no finish or sensor-range option to pick on the order. The valve itself is concealed in the wall; only the cover plate shows.
5) Can I use the TOTO IoT concealed flush valve in a retrofit, or does it need to go in during rough-in?
Plan it as a rough-in item. Because it is a concealed valve, the body sits inside the wall and needs an access or carrier cavity plus supply stubbed to it, which means opening the wall on an existing installation. For a straight swap on a finished restroom wall, an exposed flushometer is the simpler path.
