TOTO TET6GBI432#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO IoT EFV TET6GBI432#CP an exposed or concealed flush valve?
Exposed. The valve body mounts on the finished wall above the bowl, so it is the one to specify when there is no chase behind the fixture or when you want the valve serviceable without opening the wall. If the spec calls for the valve hidden behind the wall line, you need a concealed EFV model instead.
2) Will the TOTO TET6GBI432#CP work on a urinal?
No. This flush valve is configured for toilet use at 1.6 gpf. Urinals run far lower volumes (typically 0.125 to 1.0 gpf), so you need TOTO's urinal-specific EFV model instead. Installing a 1.6 gpf toilet valve on a urinal will overflow the fixture.
3) Does 1.6 gpf meet code for a new commercial restroom?
1.6 gallons per flush is the federal maximum for tank-type and flushometer toilets, so this valve is at the standard commercial flush rate rather than a high-efficiency rate. If your project is chasing a water-conservation credit or a local 1.28 gpf requirement, specify a 1.28 gpf HET valve instead.
4) What do I order to standardize restrooms on the TOTO IoT EFV?
Order by the exact part number, TET6GBI432#CP, for every exposed 1.6 gpf toilet position you want matched. There is a single configuration, so repeat orders give you identical valves and identical chrome trim across the facility, which keeps one spare part on the shelf instead of several.
