TOTO THU6235#12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is TOTO THU6235 just the tank lid, or does it include the flush valve and internal parts?
THU6235 is a tank lid assembly only. It is the ceramic top that sits on the toilet tank, not a repair kit, so it comes with no fill valve, flush valve, or trip lever. If your tank guts are the problem, order those parts separately; if the lid is cracked or chipped, this is the replacement piece.
2) How do I make sure a TOTO replacement tank lid actually fits my toilet?
Match it by the tank part number, not by the toilet model or by eye. TOTO tank lids are cast for one specific tank, and a lid off a different tank will rock, sit proud, or foul the trip lever. The full ordering number here is THU6235#12, where the #12 suffix is the color code. Check the number stamped or printed inside your existing tank, or on the underside of the broken lid, before you order.
3) What is the full part number I should give my supplier for this TOTO lid?
Order it as TOTO THU6235#12. The base number THU6235 identifies the lid casting and the #12 after the hash is the finish code. Both halves matter on a TOTO order: drop the suffix and you can end up with the same shape lid in the wrong color.
4) Can a property manager buy a TOTO toilet tank lid on its own without replacing the whole toilet?
Yes. THU6235#12 is sold as a standalone tank lid, which is the usual fix for a cracked or dropped lid in a rental or hotel bathroom. The bowl, tank, and working parts stay in place, so it is a swap you can do without shutting off water or pulling the fixture. The only thing to get right is matching the lid to the tank it belongs to.
