TOTO THU6779 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly comes in the Toto THU6779 bumper assembly?
THU6779 is a Toto seat bumper assembly supplied as a set of two bumpers. It's the replacement cushion hardware that sits between the toilet seat and the bowl rim, sold as a repair part rather than a complete seat.
2) My Toto toilet seat rocks and scratches the bowl. Do I need a whole new seat?
Not necessarily. Worn or missing bumpers are the usual cause of a seat that shifts and rubs the china, and the Toto THU6779 bumper assembly replaces that pair of cushions on its own. If the hinges or the seat itself are cracked, you're into a full seat replacement instead.
3) Is THU6779 a Toto factory part or an aftermarket bumper?
It's a genuine Toto part, ordered by manufacturer number THU6779. For property managers and MRO buyers standardizing on Toto seats across a building, using the factory bumper keeps the seat sitting the way it was engineered to.
4) Will the THU6779 bumpers fit any toilet seat, or only Toto?
These are Toto seat bumpers, specified for Toto toilet seats. Bumper post diameters and the seat's molded recesses vary between manufacturers, so match the part to the seat model you're repairing rather than assuming it drops into another brand's seat.
5) How many bumpers do I need to order per toilet seat?
One THU6779 kit covers two bumpers. Replace them in pairs so the seat beds down evenly; if you're doing a run of restrooms, count two bumpers per seat and order kits accordingly.
