TOTO THP4247 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THP4247 part used for on a handshower?
THP4247 is TOTO's ABS check valve for a hand shower. A check valve sits in the hand shower supply so water only flows one direction, keeping shower water from backfeeding into the supply line. It is a TOTO replacement part, so it is what you order when the original check valve on a TOTO hand shower is failing or missing rather than replacing the whole hand shower.
2) Is TOTO THP4247 a metal check valve or plastic?
The THP4247 check valve body is ABS, not brass. That matters if you are specifying for a job that calls out metal trim components, since ABS is a rigid plastic. It is supplied as a TOTO hand shower replacement part, so it is intended to go back into the TOTO assembly it came out of rather than serve as a general-purpose inline valve.
3) Does the TOTO THP4247 hand shower check valve come in different finishes or sizes?
There is one version of THP4247. It ships as a single part number with no finish or size options to select, so ordering by the TOTO part number gets you the only configuration made.
