TOTO 6BU4005 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How do I make sure the TOTO 6BU4005 screw set is the right one for my fixture?
Go by the TOTO part number, not by the look of the screws. TOTO publishes a specific fastener part number per fixture model, and 6BU4005 is one of them. Pull the model number off your fixture or its parts diagram and confirm 6BU4005 is the screw set called out for it. Screw sets for different TOTO models are not interchangeable even when they appear similar.
2) What is TOTO part 6BU4005?
6BU4005 is a TOTO screw set, a fastener kit for TOTO plumbing fixtures. It is sold as a replacement hardware set rather than a complete fixture component, so it is ordered by the TOTO part number when the original fasteners are lost, stripped, or corroded.
3) Can I just use hardware-store screws instead of the TOTO 6BU4005 set?
For a TOTO fixture, the factory set is the safer call. TOTO fastener sets are matched to the fixture's thread, length, and material, and generic substitutes on bath fixtures commonly strip the mounting boss or corrode in a wet location. If your parts diagram calls out 6BU4005, order that part.
4) Is the TOTO 6BU4005 a single screw or a set?
It ships as a set, TOTO's packaged fastener kit under part number 6BU4005. If a job needs fasteners for several fixtures, order one set per fixture rather than counting individual screws.
