TOTO THP4812 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is TOTO THP4812 - is it a spout or just a seal kit?
THP4812 is a repair part, not a spout assembly. It's the O-ring and adapter sealing set for a TOTO wall-mount faucet spout. If a wall spout is weeping at the escutcheon or where the spout meets the wall adapter, this is the seal side of that repair, not a replacement spout body.
2) I have a leak where my TOTO wall-mounted faucet spout enters the wall - is THP4812 the part I need?
That's the failure this part addresses. THP4812 covers the O-ring and adapter sealing at the wall spout connection, so a drip or seep at the spout-to-adapter joint is what it's for. A leak coming from the handle or valve cartridge instead is a different repair part.
3) Does the TOTO THP4812 gasket kit fit any brand of wall spout, or TOTO only?
Treat it as TOTO only. It's a TOTO factory part identified by MPN THP4812, matched to TOTO wall spout geometry. O-ring cross sections and adapter diameters vary by manufacturer, so a Delta, Moen or Kohler wall spout needs that brand's own seal kit. Match the part number to your TOTO faucet model before ordering.
4) Is TOTO THP4812 ordered as a single part number or are there size or finish choices to pick?
One part number, no options to specify. THP4812 is sold as a single configuration, so there is no finish or size selection to get wrong. Order by MPN THP4812.
5) Do I need to pull the faucet out of the wall to replace the THP4812 O-ring set?
For a property maintenance tech, this is a spout-side job: the seals sit at the spout and wall adapter, so access is from the spout connection rather than behind the wall. Water off at the stops first. The valve body stays where it is.
6) Should I stock TOTO THP4812 as a maintenance spare for a building with TOTO wall-mount faucets?
It's a reasonable shelf item if your washrooms run TOTO wall-mount spouts. Elastomeric seals are the wear item on a spout connection, and having the matching O-ring and adapter set on hand keeps a weeping spout from becoming a fixture swap. Confirm the faucet models in your facility call for THP4812 so you are not standardizing on the wrong seal.
