TOTO THU808#03-A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Toto THU808#03-A trip lever, and which side of the tank does it mount on?
It's the flush handle assembly for a Toto toilet tank, mounting on the left-hand side of the tank. Order code THU808#03-A. If your existing handle comes out of the right side of the tank, this is the wrong part for that opening.
2) How do I know whether I need the left-hand or right-hand Toto trip lever?
Stand in front of the tank as you face the toilet and look at which side the handle exits. Handle on the left means a left-hand lever like the THU808#03-A. Handle on the right means you need the right-hand version instead. The lever arm and mounting nut thread direction differ between the two, so they aren't interchangeable.
3) I manage apartments with Toto toilets and the flush handles keep breaking. Can I just replace the handle instead of the whole tank trim?
Yes, the trip lever is a standalone replacement part. THU808#03-A covers the left-hand-mount version, so you can swap just the handle and keep the existing tank and flush valve. For a fleet of units, confirm which side each tank is handled on before you stock up, since the left and right levers are different parts.
4) Does the THU808#03-A trip lever come with the chain or flapper?
The THU808#03-A is the trip lever assembly only. It does not include a flush valve, flapper, or fill valve, so reuse the existing chain and flush valve or order those separately.
5) Is the Toto THU808#03-A a toilet part or a faucet part?
Toilet. The THU808 is a tank trip lever (the flush handle), not a faucet or supply component, so it's a tank-side repair part for a Toto water closet.
