TOTO THU750#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THU750 trip lever used for?
THU750#CP is a replacement flush trip lever for a TOTO toilet tank, in the pull arm style: the handle mounts through the tank and a rigid pull arm inside connects to the flush valve, so pushing the handle lifts the valve. It's sold as a service part, so it's what you order when the original handle or arm on a TOTO tank is broken, corroded, or stripped rather than replacing the tank trim as a whole. The #CP suffix is the polished chrome finish.
2) How do I know if I need the pull arm type trip lever or a different TOTO handle?
Pull the tank lid and look at what the handle connects to. The THU750 is a pull arm type, meaning a solid arm runs from the handle to the flush valve and lifts it directly. If instead you see a chain or a strap running down to a flapper, or a cable, that tank takes a different lever and this one won't hook up. TOTO trip levers are model specific, so match the THU750 to the part number the tank originally shipped with rather than to a handle that merely looks the same.
3) Will a universal hardware-store toilet handle work instead of the TOTO THU750?
Usually not on a TOTO tank. A universal handle is built around a chain-and-flapper valve, while the THU750 is a pull arm design that lifts a TOTO flush valve through a rigid arm of set length and geometry. Swap in a generic lever and you typically get a flush that won't fully open the valve or an arm that fouls the tank wall. For a TOTO tank that came with a pull arm lever, order the matching TOTO part.
4) Is the TOTO THU750 trip lever a chrome finish, and does it come in other finishes?
Chrome only. The THU750 is offered in a single finish, polished chrome, carried by the #CP suffix on the part number. If the rest of the trim on the fixture is brushed nickel or another finish, this handle won't match it, and there is no alternate finish of the same part to order.
5) Can I buy the TOTO THU750 in bulk for a multi-family or hotel property?
The THU750#CP is a stocked replacement part with one configuration, so ordering multiples for a property is straightforward, and there's no finish or handing choice to get wrong across a fleet of units. Property managers standardizing on TOTO tanks usually keep a few on the shelf, since a broken flush handle is the most common tank service call and the part is fixture specific enough that it isn't worth improvising with a generic handle.
