TOTO THU549 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the TOTO THU549 and what does it do in an in-wall tank installation?
The THU549 is TOTO's upper hold-down bracket for an in-wall tank, the metal bracket that secures the top of the concealed tank inside the wall cavity during rough-in. It's a replacement part, so it's what you order when the original bracket is damaged, missing from a carrier you're reworking, or lost on a job. It is not the tank, the carrier frame, or the flush plate.
2) Is TOTO THU549 the right part number to order for a replacement in-wall tank upper bracket?
Order it by the TOTO manufacturer number THU549. That's the upper hold-down bracket for the in-wall tank, sold as a single part with no size, hand, or finish choice to specify, so there's nothing else to select on the order. Give the plumber or the counter that number and the TOTO name and you'll get the correct bracket.
