TOTO THP4527#CP – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO THP4527#CP the shower arm itself or just the wall flange?
THP4527#CP is the escutcheon for the TOTO Upton shower arm, the trim flange that covers the wall opening where the arm passes through. It is a trim part, not the arm and not a valve, so if your arm is damaged or missing you need the arm as well. Buyers usually order this one on its own when the original flange is pitted, scratched, or lost during a wall repair.
2) What finish does the TOTO Upton shower arm escutcheon THP4527#CP come in?
Polished chrome only. TOTO's #CP suffix on the part number is its polished chrome code, and THP4527#CP is the single configuration offered, so there is no brushed nickel or bronze version of this part number. If your Upton trim is a different finish, you need the matching finish suffix of the escutcheon rather than this one.
3) Will the THP4527 escutcheon fit a TOTO shower arm from another series?
It is built as Upton series shower arm trim, so plan on it for an Upton arm. TOTO escutcheons are series specific in diameter and profile, and a flange from one collection will not necessarily seat correctly or match the look on another. Confirm your arm is an Upton before ordering this flange.
4) Can a maintenance tech swap this shower escutcheon without opening the wall?
Yes. The escutcheon is a surface trim piece that slides over the shower arm and sits against the finished wall, so replacing it is an exterior job: back the arm out or loosen it enough to slip the old flange off, slide the new one on, and reseat. No tile cutting and no access to the valve body is required. It is a shower and tub application part, so that work happens at the wet wall.
