TOTO UltraMax II One-Piece Elongated Toilet: MS604124C
The TOTO UltraMax II is a one-piece elongated toilet built for high-efficiency performance and low maintenance. At Universal Height and ADA-compliant, it meets EPA WaterSense, CEC, and CALGreen requirements, making it a compliant choice for commercial, multi-family, and residential projects.
TORNADO FLUSH System
The UltraMax II uses TOTO's TORNADO FLUSH, a hole-free rim design with dual nozzles that generates a centrifugal washing action, rinsing the bowl thoroughly at 1.28 GPF (or 1.0 GPF on select variants). The hole-free rim eliminates the hard-to-clean ledge found on conventional toilets.
CEFIONTECT Glaze (Select Variants)
Certain configurations include TOTO's CEFIONTECT, an ultra-smooth ceramic glaze that minimizes waste adhesion to the bowl surface. Combined with TORNADO FLUSH, CEFIONTECT reduces cleaning frequency and the need for harsh chemicals. CEFIONTECT availability varies by variant; confirm your selection at checkout.
One-Piece Construction
The one-piece design eliminates the tank-to-bowl gap where dirt accumulates in two-piece toilets and removes the bolts and gaskets that are common leak points. The result is a cleaner profile and lower long-term maintenance burden.
WASHLET+ Ready
The UltraMax II includes a channel on the bowl surface to conceal the supply line and power cord of an optional TOTO WASHLET+ bidet seat, enabling clean integration without exposed wiring.

TOTO MS604124CEF#51 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO UltraMax II ADA compliant for a commercial or multi-family project?
It meets ADA. Seat height is 17.5 inches, TOTO's Universal Height, which lands inside the 17 to 19 inch seat height ADA requires for accessible water closets. Rim height itself is 16.125 inches. It also carries EPA WaterSense, CALGreen, and CEC compliance at 1.28 GPF, so it clears California and other water-efficiency mandated jurisdictions. Note the flush lever is left-hand, which matters when you are specifying to an approach side on an accessible stall.
2) What do I still need to buy to install a TOTO UltraMax II toilet?
The UltraMax II ships as tank and bowl with a SoftClose seat, the tank-to-bowl gasket and hardware, and bolt caps. You supply the wax ring, the closet bolts, and the water supply line. The seat being in the box is the part people miss on a bid, since most commercial toilets are sold seat-separate. If you are adding a bidet later, the TOTO T40 WASHLET+ seat is a separate purchase.
3) What is the difference between the 1.28 GPF and 1.0 GPF versions of the UltraMax II?
Flush volume, and it changes the model number. The 1.28 GPF versions carry an EF in the MPN (MS604124CEFG#01 in Cotton White, for example) and the 1.0 GPF versions carry a UF (MS604124CUFG#01). Both use TORNADO FLUSH through the same 3 inch flush valve and the same 2.125 inch trapway. Pick 1.0 GPF where a local ordinance or a green building credit calls for sub-1.28 fixtures; pick 1.28 GPF as the general spec, since it is the WaterSense threshold and the volume the base model is listed at.
4) Does the CEFIONTECT glaze on the UltraMax II actually change anything, and how do I know if I am ordering it?
CEFIONTECT is an extra-smooth ceramic glaze that keeps waste from sticking to the bowl, so with the hole-free TORNADO FLUSH rim you clean less often and lean less on chemicals. It is an option, not standard: the glazed versions carry a G in the model number (MS604124CEFG#01, #03, #11, #12) and the non-glazed ones do not (MS604124CEF#51 in Ebony). For a property manager running a turn schedule across a lot of units, the glaze is the part that shows up in labor hours rather than in the spec.
5) Can I get a TOTO UltraMax II in a color other than white?
Five colors: Cotton White, Colonial White, Bone, Sedona Beige, and Ebony. Cotton White (#01) is the standard, Colonial White (#11) is the off-white, Bone (#03) and Sedona Beige (#12) are the warm tones, and Ebony (#51) is the black. That covers matching an existing fleet of fixtures in a building where the previous specifier did not use plain white.
6) Should I spec a one-piece toilet like the UltraMax II or a two-piece for a rental property?
The one-piece case is maintenance. There is no tank-to-bowl joint on the UltraMax II, so the bolts and gasket that are the usual slow-leak callback on a two-piece are not there, and there is no seam behind the bowl collecting grime between cleanings. The tradeoff is handling: it comes in at 104.3 pounds as a single unit, so it is a two-person carry up stairs, and a cracked tank means replacing the whole fixture rather than a tank. On a high-turnover building the reduced callbacks usually win; on a walk-up with tight stairwells, weigh the install.
7) Will a TOTO WASHLET bidet seat work on the UltraMax II without visible cords?
Yes, and that is designed in. The UltraMax II bowl has a channel that hides the supply line and power cord of a WASHLET+ seat, so you get a bidet with no hose and cord running down the side of the fixture. The T40 WASHLET+ seat is ordered separately. Keep in mind an electronic seat needs a receptacle behind the toilet, which is often the real cost on a retrofit rather than the seat itself.
8) Will the UltraMax II clog less than the toilet I am replacing?
Two things drive that. The trapway is 2.125 inches, wider than the 2 inch trapway common on older and builder-grade fixtures, and TORNADO FLUSH pushes water through two rim nozzles in a centrifugal wash rather than dumping it through rim holes, fed by a 3 inch flush valve that dumps the tank fast. At 1.28 GPF that combination is what lets it clear the bowl on low volume. If your callbacks are coming from an aging 1.6 GPF gravity fixture, the flush valve size is the change you will feel most.
9) Is the UltraMax II taller than a standard toilet, and will that suit an older tenant?
It is a comfort-height fixture. Seat height is 17.5 inches against roughly 15 inches on a standard-height toilet, so getting up off it takes noticeably less effort, which is why Universal Height is the usual spec for senior housing and accessible units. Rim height is 16.125 inches. The flip side is that it sits high for small children, so in a daycare or a family bathroom a standard-height bowl is the better call.
10) How much space in front of the toilet does the UltraMax II need?
Front to back it runs 28.375 inches from the wall, with a 16.625 inch width and a 28.75 inch overall height, and it is an elongated bowl rather than round front. In a narrow half bath or a stall laid out for a round-front fixture, that extra bowl projection is what eats your clearance to the door swing or the opposite wall. Measure the finished wall to whatever is in front of the fixture before committing on a remodel.
11) Which side is the flush handle on the TOTO UltraMax II?
Left-hand, a chrome trip lever, facing the fixture. That is worth catching before install in a stall where the left side is tight to a partition or a grab bar, since a manual trip lever needs clear finger room to operate and there is no right-hand version of this model.
12) Does the TOTO UltraMax II need power or batteries?
No. It is a gravity-flush fixture with a manual trip lever, no batteries and no electrical connection, so it keeps working through a power outage. Power only enters the picture if you add a WASHLET+ electronic bidet seat, which is a separate item and needs a receptacle behind the fixture.
