1) How does the ABUS P625 lockout bag actually get locked out?
The P625 is a drawstring bag that closes with a retaining strap, and that strap carries five opposing metal eyelets. You line up the eyelets you need for the bulk of whatever is inside and pass a padlock shackle through them. Use a lockout hasp in place of a single padlock when several trades each need to apply their own lock before the console can be energized again. The padlock or hasp is not part of the P625, so order it separately.
2) Does a fabric lockout bag really stop someone from bumping a switch inside it?
Covering and locking the console is the primary control, but ABUS is straightforward about the limit: the bag is flexible, so pressure from outside can reach the controls. Where tampering is a real risk, their advice is to slip the control console into a length of standard plastic pipe first, then bag and lock it. The pipe keeps switches and knobs from being pressed through the fabric. If you need a rigid enclosure on its own, a hard-shell lockout box is the better choice.
