1) Will the Accentra CA4607 fit a 1-3/8 inch door, or is it only for 1-3/4 inch commercial doors?
Both. The CA4607 is adjustable for door thicknesses from 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches (35mm to 44mm), so it covers the standard 1-3/4 inch commercial door and the thinner 1-3/8 inch interior doors common in older buildings.
2) What door prep does the Accentra 4607 need, and will it drop into an existing bored opening?
It uses the standard bored-lock prep per ANSI/SDI A250.14: a 2-1/8 inch cross bore through the face and a 7/8 inch edge bore for the latch. Backset is 2-3/4 inches standard, with a 2-3/8 inch option. If the door you are replacing already has that prep at a 2-3/4 inch backset, the CA4607 goes straight in with no new boring.
3) Will the Accentra CA4607 latch into the strike already in my frame?
The latch is a deadlocking latchbolt with a 1/2 inch (13mm) throw, and it is set up for the standard ANSI 4-7/8 x 1-1/4 inch strike, with a T-strike also available. If your frame has the common ANSI 4-7/8 inch strike prep, the existing strike works. A 1/2 inch throw is short, so the door and frame gap needs to be within normal tolerance for the latch to deadlock properly.
4) How does the entrance function on the Accentra 4607 actually work day to day?
It is the F109 entry/office function. Outside is key operated; inside there is a turn-button. Push the button and the outside is locked, but turning the inside knob or using the key releases it automatically, so nobody gets trapped and the door does not stay locked by accident. If you want the outside locked continuously, push the button and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise and it stays locked until someone resets it manually. That is the setting property managers use for a storeroom-style office door or an after-hours entrance.
5) Can I use this Accentra cylindrical lock on a fire-rated door?
Yes. The CA4607 is UL/cUL Listed for use on fire doors up to a 3-hour rating, which covers stair doors, corridor doors, and tenant entrances in most multi-family and institutional buildings.
6) What cylinder and keyway comes in the Accentra CA4607, and can it go on an existing master key system?
It ships with a conventional 6-pin cylinder, PARA keyway as standard, single cylinder keyed on the outside only. Because it is a conventional cylinder rather than an interchangeable core, keying is done in the cylinder itself, so it can be pinned into an existing Accentra/Yale conventional system using the same keyway. If your building runs a small-format interchangeable core system, this is not the lock for that, you want an IC-prepped cylindrical lock instead.
7) Do I need to specify handing when I order the Accentra 4607?
No handing to call out. The 4607 is non-handed and field reversible, so one lock covers both right-hand and left-hand swings with no modification. Useful if you are buying a batch for a building where the swings are mixed.
8) Is a Grade 2 cylindrical lock like the Accentra 4600 Series enough for a commercial entrance, or do I need Grade 1?

It is a cylindrical bored lockset from the Accentra 4600 Series, meaning it installs through a 2-1/8 inch cross bore in the door face rather than into a mortise pocket in the door edge. If your doors are prepped with a rectangular mortise cavity, this will not fit and you need a mortise lock instead.
10) What finish does the Accentra CA4607 come in, and will it match US32D hardware already on my doors?
One finish: 630 Satin Stainless Steel, which is the same finish as US32D. It matches the satin stainless closers, push plates, and exit hardware already specified across most commercial buildings, and stainless holds up better than plated finishes in humid or coastal openings.
