Alarm Lock S6072 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the Alarm Lock S6072 spacer set used for?
The S6072 is a spacer set for Alarm Lock Trilogy narrow stile exit locks. It is a mounting component, not a lock or a trim, and it takes up the gap so the Trilogy narrow stile unit sits correctly against the device it is being mounted with. You order it alongside the lock, not instead of it.
2) Will the S6072 spacer set work with any Alarm Lock Trilogy model?
It's built specifically for the Trilogy narrow stile exit lock line and for integration with compatible panic devices. It is not a general spacer for the wide stile or cylindrical Trilogy keypad locks, so match it to a narrow stile exit application.
3) Can a Von Duprin 376T thumbturn trim be used in place of the Alarm Lock S6072 spacer set?
No, they do different jobs. The Alarm Lock S6072 is a spacer set, a mounting component that lets a Trilogy narrow stile exit lock integrate properly with a compatible panic device. The Von Duprin 376T is a Grade 1 thumbturn trim with classroom function for exit devices in the 33A/35A/98/99 series, and it is the operating trim on the outside of the door, not a spacer behind a lock. If you need the Trilogy lock to sit correctly on the stile, the S6072 is the part; if you need outside trim on a Von Duprin device, the 376T is a different purchase entirely.
4) Is the Alarm Lock S6072 spacer set rated for commercial traffic?
Alarm Lock rates this tailpiece and spacer component at BHMA Grade 1, the commercial rating used for office, healthcare, education, transportation and government openings. For a property manager standardizing exit hardware across a building, that is the same grade level you'd spec on the rest of the door hardware.
5) What is the difference between the Von Duprin 360T and 376T thumbturn trims if I am also ordering exit device trim alongside an Alarm Lock Trilogy job?
Both are Grade 1 non-handed thumbturn trims with classroom function. The 360T is catalogued to the 33A/35A series trim, while the 376T covers 33A/35A/98/99 devices, so the 376T spans the 98/99 rim and mortise devices as well. Match the trim to the device family already on the opening. Neither replaces the Alarm Lock S6072, which is the spacer set that positions a Trilogy narrow stile exit lock on its panic device.
6) I need Grade 1 hardware on a narrow stile aluminum door with a Trilogy lock. Is the S6072 spacer set rated for that?
Yes. The Alarm Lock S6072 spacer set carries a BHMA Grade 1 commercial rating and is engineered specifically for Trilogy narrow stile exit locks, which is the common aluminum storefront application. Von Duprin thumbturn trims such as the 360T and 376T are also Grade 1, but they are classroom function trims for exit devices rather than spacer hardware, so they do not address narrow stile Trilogy mounting.
7) Is the S6072 handed - do I need to specify left or right?
No handing to specify. The S6072 ships as a single model with no left or right option, so one part number covers the opening either way.
