Metallics MWDOW114J – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size is the Metallics MWDOW114J Walldog anchor and what head does it have?
It's a 1-1/4 inch Walldog anchor with an oval Phillips head in white finish. The oval head seats partly into the fixture hole and leaves a low, finished profile, and the white head is meant to disappear against white trim, drywall, or a white device plate.
2) How many Metallics MWDOW114J Walldog anchors come in a jar?
The MWDOW114J ships as a jar of 100 anchors. Pack type is a jar, so it's a countertop/van-stock container rather than a bulk box, which suits a service truck or an MRO shelf where you're pulling a handful at a time.
3) Do I need a separate plastic plug or sleeve with these Walldog anchors?
No. A Walldog is a one-piece anchor screw, so there's no plastic sleeve, cone, or expansion shell to set first. You drill the pilot hole and drive it. That's the main reason crews pick them over a plug-and-screw setup when they're hanging a lot of small items.
4) Is the white Walldog anchor meant to be left exposed?
Yes. The head is finished white so it can stay visible on the face of a white plate, bracket, or trim without a cap or touch-up. If the head will be hidden under a fixture, the finish doesn't matter and a plain plated Walldog does the same mechanical job.
