Metallics LCS1230 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the LCS1230 anchor zinc plated or stainless?
Zinc plated steel, not stainless. That finish suits dry interior and protected concrete work; for standing water, coastal exposure, or chemical environments, specify a stainless anchor instead.
2) Will a 3 inch long 1/2 inch anchor work for mounting conduit strut and panel backing to concrete?
That is the use it is built for. At 1/2 inch diameter and 3 inches overall length, the LCS1230 is sized for electrical mounting work, strut, hangers, and equipment backing into concrete or masonry, with the hex head driven by a socket. Remember the 3 inches is total anchor length, so your embedment is that figure minus the thickness of the strut, clip, or bracket you are fastening through.
3) What is the Metallics part number to order for the 1/2 by 3 hex anchor?
Order it as Metallics LCS1230. That single manufacturer part number covers the 1/2 x 3 inch zinc plated hex anchor in the 25 count jar, so there is no finish or length option to pick on top of it.
