Metallics PD4112 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread size do the Metallics PD4112 multipurpose anchors take?
The PD4112 anchor takes 1/4-20 threaded hardware, so it mates with 1/4-20 rod, bolts, or hanger studs. If your hanger or strut hardware is 3/8-16, this is the wrong anchor for it.
2) Can I use the Metallics PD4112 for hanging pipe and conduit?
Pipe hanging is exactly what it is built for. The PD4112 is a multipurpose pipe hanger anchor with a 1/4-20 thread, so it accepts 1/4-20 rod or a hanger bolt for suspending pipe, conduit, and similar light overhead runs.
3) How many Metallics PD4112 anchors come in a jar?
They ship 100 anchors to a jar. For a contractor running pipe or conduit hangers across a floor, that is one jar per run rather than counting out loose pieces, and the jar keeps the remainder together on the truck.
4) Do the PD4112 anchors include the threaded rod or hanger?
No. A jar of PD4112 is anchors only. You supply the 1/4-20 rod, bolt, or hanger assembly that threads into them, plus whatever pipe clamp or clevis the run calls for.
5) Is the Metallics PD4112 an electrical fastener or a plumbing one?
Both trades use it. It is catalogued on the electrical side as a fastener anchor, but the 1/4-20 thread and pipe hanger design mean electricians hanging conduit and plumbers hanging pipe use the same piece.
