Metallics WAKJ14TB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size screw does the Metallics WAKJ14TB blue plastic wall anchor kit take?
The WAKJ14TB kit is a 1/4 inch blue plastic wall anchor kit, so the anchors are sized for 1/4 inch fasteners. Blue conical plastic anchors of this type are driven into a pre-drilled hole and expand as the screw is turned in.
2) Will blue plastic wall anchors hold in drywall, or do I need a toggle?
Blue conical plastic anchors like the WAKJ14TB set are intended for light loads in masonry, brick, block, and plaster, where the hole walls are solid enough to grip the expanding body. In hollow drywall they rely only on the thin board face, so for anything carrying real weight on drywall use a toggle or self drilling hollow wall anchor instead.
3) How many anchors come in the Metallics WAKJ14TB jar?
It ships as a jar of 200 anchors, packaged as a kit of 10. One jar covers a good run of device plates, conduit straps, or low voltage boxes without reordering between jobs.
4) Are Metallics WAKJ14TB anchors meant for electrical work?
Yes. Metallics catalogues the WAKJ14TB anchor kit on the electrical side of its fastener line, and it is the kind of anchor electricians reach for to hang straps, clamps, surface boxes, and plates on masonry.
