1) Will a wedge anchor hold in block or brick, or is it concrete only?
Wedge anchors are for solid, poured concrete. They work by a clip expanding against the wall of the drilled hole, which needs the hole to stay intact under pressure. Hollow block, brick, and mortar joints crumble instead, so use a sleeve anchor or a screw-type masonry anchor in those bases. The JTS1134SS is no exception, stainless or not.
2) Are these Metallics wedge anchors stainless steel, and does that matter outdoors?
The JTS1134SS is a stainless steel wedge anchor. That is the version to use on exterior walls, parking structures, pool and wash-down rooms, and anywhere a plated carbon steel anchor would bleed rust onto the concrete or seize over time. For dry interior work, a zinc plated 1/4 inch wedge anchor does the same mechanical job at lower cost.
3) Do I need to buy nuts and washers separately for these wedge anchors?
No. A wedge anchor ships as a complete assembly, the threaded stud with the expansion clip already on it plus the nut and washer, so nothing extra is needed to set it. What you do need on the job is a hammer drill and a 1/4 inch carbide bit, and a way to blow or brush the hole clean before driving the anchor.
