Metallics M50578 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics M50578 .27 caliber brown safety strip used for?
It's the .27 caliber brown strip load used to drive fasteners with a powder actuated tool, part number M50578 from Metallics. The strip feeds the tool; the pins or threaded studs being driven are ordered separately.
2) Will the M50578 brown strip load work in my powder actuated tool?
Only if your tool takes .27 caliber strip loads. The M50578 is a .27 caliber strip, so it will not feed a tool built for single-shot loads or for a different caliber such as .22. Match the caliber and the strip feed on your tool nameplate before ordering.
3) How many .27 caliber brown loads come in the Metallics M50578 pack?
100 per pack, supplied in a clamshell rather than loose or boxed. That's one clamshell of 100 strip loads per order of M50578.
4) Is the brown .27 caliber load the same thing as the pin or stud being driven?
No. The brown strip is the powder charge only. Electrical contractors fastening strut, conduit clips, or box hangers to concrete and steel deck need the drive pins or threaded studs as a separate line item alongside this 100 count clamshell of M50578.
