Metallics M50614 Anchors .27 Long Caliber Purple Loads (Box 100)

They are .27 caliber long powder loads, the cartridges that drive pins in a powder actuated fastening tool. You use them with a .27 caliber long-load tool to shoot pins into concrete or steel; the load itself is the propellant, so the drive pins or anchors are a separate order. They come 100 to a box.

Only if the tool is chambered for .27 caliber long loads. A .27 caliber short (single shot strip or single load) tool will not take the long case, and .22 caliber tools will not either. Check the caliber and case length stamped on your tool before ordering the M50614.

Color is the power level code on powder actuated loads, and purple is one of the higher levels in the standard sequence (brown, green, yellow, red, purple). Practically, a purple .27 long load is for the harder or thicker base material on the job, where a yellow or red load is leaving the pin standing proud. Always start with the lowest power that sets the pin flush and step up only if needed.

No. The M50614 is loads only, 100 cartridges in a box. Drive pins, threaded studs, or ceiling clips for hanging strut, conduit straps and electrical boxes have to be ordered separately and matched to the base material and the thickness of what you are fastening.

Metallics M50614 is the number to order, and it is also the manufacturer part number carried on the box of 100 purple .27 caliber long loads. That is the identifier to give a supplier so you get the right power level, since the same caliber is sold in several colors.
