The DIA34B is a 3/4-10 drop-in anchor, so it takes a 3/4 inch bolt or threaded rod with 10 threads per inch (standard UNC coarse thread). The anchor body is internally threaded, so the bolt threads into it rather than through it, which lets you remove and reinstall the bolt without disturbing the anchor.

Yes, a 3/4 inch drop-in anchor setting tool is required and is not part of the box. Drop the anchor into the drilled hole flush with the surface, then drive the matching setting punch until the internal plug bottoms out. Without the setting tool the anchor is not expanded and will pull out under load. Buy one tool per anchor size you are installing.

These are steel anchors with a zinc plated finish (St-zn). Zinc plating is intended for dry interior use; it gives limited corrosion protection and is not a substitute for hot-dip galvanized or stainless in wet, exterior, or chemically exposed locations. For overhead conduit, strut, and trapeze hanging inside a building it is the normal choice.

Use a drop-in when you want the fastener removable and nothing protruding. You also need 3/4-10 bolts or threaded rod cut to length, matching nuts and washers if you are using rod, a 3/4 inch drop-in setting tool, and a carbide hammer-drill bit sized for the anchor hole. Blow or vacuum the hole clean before setting, or the plug will not seat fully.
