1) Is the Appleton VPT-7 a complete light fixture or just a part?
VPT-7 is a service part, not a fixture. It's the replacement connection block for an existing Appleton V-51 / Code Master luminaire, covering the 50-300W range. If you need a whole new luminaire, look at the V-51 family fixture catalog numbers such as VGL, VPG1, VA, or VGAT instead.
2) What is the difference between Appleton VPT-7 and VPT-8?
Two different service parts for the same V-51 luminaire. VPT-7 is the electrical piece, the connection block rated 50-300W that the supply conductors land on. VPT-8 is mechanical, the neoprene reflector attaching ring that seats in the reflector neck and snaps into the mounting hood groove to guard against vibration and chipping.
