1) Will Arlington EMT insulating bushings fit rigid or IMC conduit, or are they EMT only?
They fit more than EMT. The Arlington press-fit insulating bushings work on EMT, rigid, IMC, and PVC conduit in trade sizes 1/2 inch through 4 inch, so one part number covers the same trade size across whichever raceway type is on the job. Order by trade size, not by conduit type.
2) Do I need a separate fastener or locknut to install a press-fit insulating bushing?
No. The press-fit design seats into the conduit end without any additional fastener or mounting hardware, which is what separates it from a threaded insulated bushing that has to be run onto rigid or IMC threads. You push it in and it stays.
3) Are Arlington insulating bushings UL listed for commercial and institutional work?
Both UL and CSA Listed. That covers the inspection question on commercial, healthcare, and school jobs where every fitting in the raceway has to be a listed product, and the CSA side means the same part carries into Canadian work.
4) What does an insulating bushing on the end of a conduit actually do, and when is one required?
