B-LINE B383GRN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the B-Line B383GRN used for?
The B383GRN is a wall ladder bracket, the steel bracket that carries cable ladder or cable tray off a wall rather than hanging it from the structure above. One bracket supports the tray at a fixed standoff from the wall face; you space them along the run to carry the tray. Part number is B383GRN.
2) How far off the wall does the B-Line B383GRN hold cable tray?
The bracket measures 11.62 inches on its length/depth dimension, with a 6.37 inch height and a 1.62 inch width, so it is the size class that carries tray roughly a foot off the wall face. Check that 11.62 inch arm against the tray width you are supporting, since the tray should not overhang the end of the bracket.
3) What does the DURA GREEN finish on the B-Line B383GRN mean for corrosion?
DURA GREEN is B-Line's green epoxy/polyester type coating over the steel bracket. It is the finish specified where painted steel is wanted for indoor or sheltered industrial cable tray support, as opposed to plain pre-galvanized or hot dip galvanized versions of the same bracket. For continuous outdoor exposure or washdown areas, buyers typically move to a galvanized or stainless version instead.
4) Does the B383GRN bracket come with anchors or mounting bolts?
No. The B383GRN is the bracket alone, 2 lb of steel with the DURA GREEN finish. Wall anchors or through-bolts sized to your substrate (concrete, block, or steel stud/beam) and the hardware attaching the tray to the bracket are ordered separately, since both depend on the wall and the tray you are using.
5) Can I mount the B-Line B383GRN to strut instead of directly to the wall?
The B383GRN mounts on a wall face as a cantilever ladder bracket, and its 1.62 inch width sits within a standard 1-5/8 inch strut channel profile, which is how this style of bracket is commonly bolted to a wall-mounted strut column rather than anchored straight into masonry. If your run needs a full strut post with multiple tiers, plan the strut and channel nuts separately.
6) Is the B-Line B383GRN a listed or certified product?
Certifications are marked Not Applicable for the B383GRN wall ladder bracket. It is a structural steel support component, not an electrical device, so specify it against the tray manufacturer's support spacing and load tables rather than against a listing mark.
