B-LINE SB211BYZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size is the B-Line SB211BYZ wall bracket?
The SB211BYZ auxiliary support bracket measures 6 in wide, 1.75 in in length/depth and 1.56 in high, and weighs 1.9 lb. The 6 inch dimension is the projection commonly referenced as the bracket length, so plan on roughly 6 inches of reach off the wall surface when laying out conduit or strut runs.
2) Is the yellow zinc finish on the B-Line SB211BYZ suitable for a damp indoor area like a parking garage or mechanical room?
The bracket is steel with a yellow zinc chromate finish. That plating gives corrosion resistance for indoor and sheltered dry-to-damp locations, which covers mechanical rooms, electrical rooms and covered garages. For direct outdoor exposure, salt air or wash-down areas, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead.
3) What is an auxiliary support bracket like the B-Line SB211BYZ actually used for?
It is a wall mounted support bracket used to carry conduit, cable, strut or small equipment off a wall or structural surface, giving a short cantilevered shelf where a full trapeze or strut rack would be overkill. The SB211BYZ is the 6 inch version, so it suits single or small-bundle runs held close to the wall rather than wide multi-conduit racks.
4) Does the B-Line SB211BYZ bracket come with mounting hardware or fasteners?
The SB211BYZ is supplied as the steel bracket itself. Anchors, bolts, strut nuts, clamps or conduit straps are ordered separately and chosen for the wall substrate, whether that is concrete, block, steel or wood framing.
5) What is the part number to order for the 6 inch yellow zinc B-Line wall bracket?
Order Eaton B-Line part number SB211BYZ. That number covers the steel, yellow zinc chromate, 6 inch auxiliary wall support bracket, and it is the single configuration sold under it, so there is no finish or length option to specify at order.
