B-LINE SB57905 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What wire size does the B-Line SB57905 ground bar lug accept?
The B-Line Eaton SB57905 is sized for #1 wire. It is a compression connector lug, so the conductor is crimped into the barrel rather than clamped under a set screw. If your conductor is a different gauge, you need the matching lug for that size, since a compression barrel only seats correctly on the conductor it is rated for.
2) Is the SB57905 ground bar lug UL listed?
Yes, the B-Line Eaton SB57905 carries a UL certification, which is what most inspectors and institutional spec writers will look for on a grounding connector in a panel, telecom room, or service entrance.
3) Do I need a crimp tool for the B-Line SB57905, or can I install it with a screwdriver?
It's a compression lug, so the conductor termination is crimped with a die tool, not screwed down. A mechanical set screw lug is the alternative if you don't have a crimper on site. The mounting end uses the included silicon bronze hardware to fasten to the ground bar.
4) Is mounting hardware included with the B-Line Eaton SB57905 ground lug?
Silicon bronze hardware comes with it. Silicon bronze is used on grounding connections because it resists corrosion at the copper-to-copper joint and won't set up the galvanic reaction you get from mixing dissimilar metals on a ground bar.
5) What material is the B-Line SB57905 grounding lug made from?
Copper alloy body with silicon bronze hardware. That combination is the standard for grounding and bonding because copper alloy carries fault current well and the bronze fasteners will not corrode against it in a damp electrical room or an outdoor enclosure.
6) How much space does the B-Line Eaton SB57905 lug take up in an enclosure?
It measures 2.06 x 1 x .25 inches and weighs about .1 lb. That footprint matters when you are stacking multiple lugs on a ground bar in a tight panel or a crowded telecom backboard, so lay out your bar hole spacing against those numbers before you order a quantity.
7) What is the exact part number to order this Eaton B-Line grounding lug under?
Order it as B-Line (Eaton) model SB57905. That is the manufacturer part number for the copper alloy, #1 wire compression lug with silicon bronze hardware.
