B-LINE BF13 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the BF13 purlin hanger attach to, and what hangs off it?
It clips to a Z purlin (the formed steel roof or wall purlin common in metal buildings) and accepts an S hook, which is what carries the drop. So the sequence is purlin, BF13, S hook, then your threaded rod, drop wire or conduit drop. The S hook and rod are ordered separately.
2) Is the B-Line BF13 hanger UL listed for electrical support work?
Yes, the BF13 is UL/CUL listed, which is what an inspector or a facility spec will look for on conduit and drop wire support in a commercial or institutional building.
3) Do I get the S hook and threaded rod with the BF13 hanger?
No. The BF13 is the purlin hanger only. It is made to receive an S hook, and the hook, threaded rod or drop wire, and any conduit clips are separate line items. Plan the full assembly before you order quantity for a job.
