B-LINE BBF24C – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is the B-Line BBF24C floorstand used for on a rough-in?
The BBF24C is a 24 inch floorstand box support from Eaton's B-Line series. It mounts to the floor and holds an electrical box at height during rough-in, so you can set a box where there is no stud to fasten to. It ships with a cable clip for routing the whip or cable up the stand.
2) How tall does the B-Line BBF24C set an electrical box off the floor?
It is a 24 inch floorstand, so it supports the box at roughly two feet up from the floor. The stand's own section is listed at 1 inch height by 1 inch width by 1 inch length depth, and the assembly weighs 1.974 lb.
3) Does the BBF24C floorstand come galvanized for corrosion resistance?
It is pre-galvanized steel, so the zinc coating is applied to the stock before fabrication. That suits it to normal dry interior commercial rough-in work.
4) Do I need a separate cable clip when ordering the B-Line BBF24C?
No. The cable clip is part of the BBF24C as supplied, so the stand and the clip come together as one item. You still supply the box, the box fasteners, and the floor anchors for your deck or slab.
5) Should I use a floorstand like the BBF24C or a stud-mounted bracket for my box?
Use the floorstand where the box location falls in open framing or away from a stud, or where you want the box set before the walls close in. If there is a stud right at the box location, a bracket that spans or clips to the stud is the simpler fix. The BBF24C is a floor-mount support, so it takes its fastening from the floor rather than the framing.
6) What is the exact part number to order this 24 inch B-Line floorstand?
Order it as Eaton B-Line BBF24C. That is the manufacturer part number for the 24 inch floorstand with cable clip, and it is the only configuration this model covers.
