B-LINE BG-8-12-G32 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much weight will the Eaton B-Line BG-8-12-G32 Guide-rite conduit support hold?
The BG-8-12-G32 Guide-rite support is rated for a 25 lb load. That covers a single run of conduit and its contents on a pedestal-mounted support, not ganged or stacked runs. If your run works out heavier than 25 lb between support points, add supports or step up to a heavier bracket rather than loading this one past its rating.
2) Is the B-Line BG-8-12-G32 conduit support UL listed for electrical work?
It is cULus Listed, so it carries both the US and Canadian listings. That matters on inspected commercial and institutional jobs where every support component in the raceway system has to be a listed part, and it means the same bracket can be specified on projects either side of the border without a substitution.
3) What is a Guide-rite conduit to pedestal support actually used for?
It is the bracket that ties a conduit run off to a pedestal or stand rather than to building steel or a wall. Typical use is field equipment, meter and control pedestals, and outdoor stub-ups where there is no structure to strap to. It is a support fastener only, so you are still ordering the conduit, the pedestal, and any anchors for the pedestal base separately.
4) What size is the Eaton B-Line BG-8-12-G32 bracket and how much does it weigh?
Published dimensions are 8 in length/depth by 6 in height by .375 in width, with a shipping weight of .094 lb. The 8 in dimension is what determines how far the conduit sits off the pedestal face, so check that offset against your stub-up location before you set the pedestal.
5) Can I standardize on the B-Line BG-8-12-G32 across a facility's pedestal-mounted conduit runs?
Yes, and that is the usual reason MRO and facility buyers order it by the box. It is a single Eaton B-Line part number, BG-8-12-G32, with one published load rating of 25 lb and a cULus listing, so every pedestal on site gets the same detail and the same inspection answer. Keep a count of how many runs exceed 25 lb per support point, since those openings need a different bracket.
