B-LINE BG-16-W6 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the BG-16-W6 fastener hold 1 inch EMT and 1 inch rigid conduit both?
Yes, the Guide-Rite fastener is sized for 1 inch EMT and 1 inch rigid conduit. One part covers both, so you do not need to stock a separate fitting when a run changes from EMT to rigid at the same trade size.
2) How much weight can a Guide-Rite conduit to rod fastener carry?
Rated for 50 lbs vertical and 25 lbs horizontal load per fastener. That is a per-point figure, so on a long horizontal run your support spacing has to keep the load at each rod under those numbers.
3) Is the B-Line BG-16-W6 conduit fastener UL listed for electrical inspection?
It carries a UL/CUL listing, which covers both US and Canadian jobs. That is usually what an inspector or a spec writer is looking for on a conduit support submittal.
4) What does a conduit to rod fastener do that a regular conduit clamp does not?
A Guide-Rite fastener attaches the conduit directly to a piece of threaded rod, so you skip the strut channel and strut clamp entirely. It is for rod-drop supports off a deck. If you are banding conduit to unistrut or to a wall, you want a strut clamp or a one-hole strap instead, not this.
5) Can I use the 1 inch BG-16-W6 on 3/4 inch or 1-1/4 inch conduit?
No. It's sized specifically for 1 inch EMT and rigid. Other trade sizes need the matching Guide-Rite part for that diameter; forcing a mismatched size gives you a loose run and an inspection callout.
6) How much room does a Guide-Rite fastener take up on the rod?
It's a compact fitting at 1 inch in each dimension (height, width, and depth), so it works in tight plenum spaces and lets you stack multiple runs down a single rod without much vertical loss.
