A double sided universal distribution frame mounts terminal blocks on both faces of the uprights, so it supports central cross connects with twice the block capacity in the same floor footprint. That is what you want when the frame sits out in the room with access from both sides. If the frame has to go against a wall, or you only need one field of blocks, a single sided frame is the better buy because you cannot reach the back face once it is against drywall.

It is built as 6 verticals with 13 shelves, with an 18 inch shelf width. That is the shipped configuration, so you are ordering a complete frame rather than buying uprights and shelves separately.

Each frame occupies 31.62 inches of length along the row and stands 18 inches wide, so line up bays end to end and add your aisle off the 18 inch face. Because blocks are worked from both sides, you need a working aisle on each face, not just one, which is the main layout difference from a single sided frame against a wall.

Steel construction, specifically ASTM A36 structural steel, finished in Telco gray. That is the standard finish in telecom equipment rooms, so it will match existing B-Line ladder rack and framing already in most central offices and MDF rooms.

No certification applies to this frame. It is structural steel support framing for terminal blocks and cross connects, not an electrical device, so there is no listing to reference on a submittal. Grounding and bonding of the frame is handled by your own bonding detail per the job spec.
