B-Line Eaton series Flextray wire basket tray, Steel, Cable drop out

The Eaton B-Line Flextray FTA2DO is a drop out accessory that mounts at the point where cable leaves the wire basket tray and turns down toward a rack, cabinet, or device. Its curved steel body gives the cable a supported radius over the tray edge instead of letting it bend against a cut wire, which is what protects the jacket on data and low voltage runs. It is an accessory piece, not tray, so you order it in addition to the basket tray sections and their splices.

Compact: 2 inches high, 2 inches wide, and 2 inches in length/depth, weighing .17 lb. That 2 inch width is the footprint it takes along the tray edge, so on a narrow basket run you can still land it, and on a wide tray you can set several side by side wherever cables break out. If your drop point needs a wider bearing surface for a heavy bundle, plan on multiple drop outs across the exit rather than one.

Steel. That matters two ways on a job: it holds its shape under a loaded cable bundle instead of deforming the way a molded plastic radius guide can, and being metallic it is part of the same material family as the steel basket tray it clips to, so it does not introduce a dissimilar-material joint into the run.

Different jobs. A drop out like the FTA2DO handles cable leaving the tray downward at a break-out point, giving the bundle a supported bend. Splices and connectors join tray sections end to end and carry the mechanical continuity of the run. If you are joining two lengths of basket, a drop out is the wrong part; if cable is exiting the side or bottom of the tray to feed a rack, this is the piece you want.

Order one per break-out point, not per tray section. The FTA2DO is sold as a single accessory piece under one model, so count the places where cable actually leaves the basket to drop to a rack, panel, or device, then add spares. At .17 lb apiece they are light enough that overordering costs you little on a large distribution run.
