Yes, it is built for PDU mounting: 4 half height PDUs or 2 full height PDUs. That lets you keep vertical power strips inside the manager channel behind the cover instead of hanging them off the rack rails.
2) Does this removable cover come off for adding cable later, or is it fixed once installed?
It is a removable back cover by design, so you can pull it to add or re-dress cable and to get at PDUs mounted inside the channel, then put it back without disturbing the rack.

The cover is finished in silver powder coat, which matches B-Line series open frame racks supplied in the same silver powder coat. If your existing racks and managers are black, this cover will not match them visually.
