B-LINE SB862BRC3084SL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the B-Line SB862BRC3084SL, a full cable manager or just a cover?
It's the RCM vertical cable manager back removable cover, not the cable manager itself. It's a 14 gauge steel back panel in silver powder coat that closes off the rear of an 84 inch vertical cable manager channel, and it ships with its mounting hardware. If you need the channel itself, that's a separate part.
2) Which Eaton B-Line cable managers does the SB862BRC3084SL back cover fit?
It's made for the SB860, SB862 and SB864 cable managers, on 84 inch tall open frame racks. If your vertical manager is one of those three, this cover mates to it; anything else and you're guessing at the channel width.
3) Can I mount a PDU behind this cable manager cover?
The assembly supports PDU mounting for two half height units or one full height unit. That lets you keep rack-mount space free and run the power strip vertically in the manager channel.
4) Is the back cover removable for later cable adds, or does it bolt on permanently?
Removable by design. It's the RCM removable back cover, so you can pull it to add or re-dress cable in the rear of the channel and refit it with the same hardware, which matters in a data room that keeps growing.
5) Is this Eaton B-Line rack cover UL Listed for a commercial equipment room?
Yes, it carries a UL Listed marking. That's the spec most institutional and facility buyers need on record for equipment room hardware.
6) Do I need to order screws or brackets separately for this cover?
No extra fasteners needed. Mounting hardware is packed with the cover. You will need the SB860, SB862 or SB864 cable manager already on the rack for it to attach to.
7) How wide is the SB862BRC3084SL cover and how much does it weigh?
3.63 inches wide over an 84 inch length, weighing 3.6 lb. That's light enough for one tech to hang it, but the 84 inch run means you want a second pair of hands or the rack ladder when you set it in place.
8) What is the part number I should order for the 84 inch silver B-Line back cover?
Order SB862BRC3084SL. That's the Eaton B-Line RCM back removable cover in silver powder coat for 84 inch racks.
