It is built as a Seismic Zone 4 network bay open duct rack, which is why the frame is ASTM A570 grade 33 steel rather than lighter formed stock. The rack itself is also UL Listed. Seismic performance still depends on your floor anchorage and any overhead bracing being installed to the engineer's detail.

An open frame rack like this one gives you access from both sides and free airflow, and it is the normal choice for patch panels, cross-connects and cable-heavy telco bays in a locked room. Go to an enclosed cabinet instead when the equipment sits in a shared or public space and needs to be physically secured, or when you need door-mounted fans and filtered air. This is a top angle style frame, so it is built to tie into overhead cable runway rather than stand alone.

The frame weighs 124.03 lb empty. At 96 inches tall that is a two-person lift and awkward rather than heavy, so handle it flat and raise it into position at the anchor points.

What is defined here is the rack frame itself: 19 inch wide, 96 inches tall, 51 mounting spaces with 12-24 punched rails, in Telco gray. Vertical cable managers, horizontal wire management, ladder rack and the 12-24 equipment screws are separate line items, so add them to the order if the room does not already have them.

The top angle gives you a flat horizontal surface across the top of the frame to bolt cable runway, ladder rack or a waterfall to. If your room already has overhead runway on other bays, this profile lines up with it. If you are not running overhead cable at all, the angle simply acts as the top frame member.

Finish is Telco gray powder coat over steel, the standard color for network bays, so it lines up visually with existing gray B-Line and telco-standard frames. It ships in one model only, SB5861096TG, so there is no alternate color to specify.
